Abstract. The Covid-19 epidemic produced two immediate consequences: on the one hand, it caused the sharp contraction of the global economy; on the other, it showed how the world was not ready to face pandemics. In order to identify a possible trajectory towards the return to the next normality, the work is structured as follows. After the introduction, the second paragraph describes the impact of Covid-19 on businesses with particular reference to the intensity with which the various economic sectors have been affected by the epidemic. The third paragraph analyzes the first answers given and the results obtained, while the fourth indicates the lessons to be learned to speed up the return to the next normality. The final paragraph closes with some concluding reflections.
